Welcome to Pharmacy Tutor®. Originally designed for Risktutor and life insurance agents, Pharmacy Tutor® also provides LTC agents with an excellent overview of prescription medications and their potential impact on the LTC underwriting process.

Pharmacy Tutor® is easy to use. Simply select one of four (4) options to locate a medication:

Search by brand name or generic name.
Search by the first letter of the medication.
Search by the medical problem (pathology) for which the medication is used.
Search using the online help function labeled "Can't Find A Drug."

You will note that all medications in Pharmacy Tutor® are color coded with the following system:

The green coded medications present minimal underwriting concerns.
The yellow coded medications present underwriting concerns.
The red coded medications present the biggest underwriting challenge

Under each medication, you will find "Underwriting Comments." This section discusses the key underwriting issues. It also outlines what you will need to do to clarify these issues to arrive at an underwriting decision.
